**SATURDAY BEGINNERS COURSE**

Starts Saturday 27th May 10:00 – 11:30 (for 5 weeks). Please note there is no class on the 10th June.

Stretching – a beginners guide to yoga!

This five week course for those who want to get a better stretch and/or are new to yoga. We’ll explore classical Hatha yoga postures to improve your flexibility, as well as breathing and relaxation in a friendly and welcoming environment.  The course will provide a good grounding in the fundamentals of stretching and yoga and aims to give you the experience and knowledge to confidently join any general level classes. NB. This course also allows participants unlimited access to any Mysore class for the duration for the course.

This courses is for both beginners and anyone practicing other styles of yoga. These course prepare students to move on to our led or Mysore style classes. These classes are open to all – men and women of all ages. You do not have to be young, fit or bendy to start practicing yoga!
During the course we aim to teach you: ·

The basics of the practice including breath, bandhas, dristi and vinyasa ·

The sun salutations and fundamental standing poses ·

The seated poses of the ashtanga vinyasa Primary Series ·

Basic back bending and the finishing sequence.
Ashtanga is a fantastic way to build strength and flexibility, while also calming the mind. If you have any questions about your suitability or the practice, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

**FRIDAY BEGINNERS HATHA YOGA COURSE**

Starts Friday 9th of June 18:00-19:15 (for 8 weeks)

Unifying breath and movement – this is what lets us experience Yoga.

In this course we practice asanas (postures) suitable for beginners, gradually linking them into sun salutations and moderate flows. We discover how to sit comfortably in order to practice simple regulating breathing  exercises. At end of each class we learn to let go and relax deeply. 

These classes are specially designed for beginners but also serve as a powerful refresher for yogis who wish to revisit specific aspects of their practice; or for those who enjoy a gentle Friday evening Hatha practice.

**WORKSHOP & EVENTS FOR 2017**

Better Vinyasas, Better Back Bends, Better Headstands, Better Practice with Nicola

Everyone has to start somewhere with yoga and some may take shorter yoga journeys than others.

If you are a yogic traveller and feel that you want to start or improve your ‘nemesis’ yogic practices, or you just feel stuck in a yogic rut, this series of workshops may be for you.

Using the knowledge that I have acquired since I started practicing (some ago now!), I have created three workshops to help yogi’s better some of the stumbling blocks that they come across in class.

Vinyasas, Back Bends and Headstands!

I wanted to share these with you as I know how overcoming a personal challenge can bring so much happiness, joy and bring a sparkle back to your practice.

Over three Saturdays I am going to show you how to begin or refine your poses looking at strength, technique and where your body needs to move more to allow these poses to become easier.

The workshops are open to all level of practitioner, the only pre-requisite is an open mind and a sense of humour! I will be keeping class numbers small to ensure you get the most out of the workshop you choose to attend, so booking is essential.

Better Vinyasas

Have you started jumping backwards and forwards yet in your practice? Are vinyasas the bane of your life or do you just want to try to move on with your vinyasa?  Well, this workshop could be for you! 

Open to all, this workshop will focus on the areas we need to be stronger in to help us float and building strength in those places. We will also look at various techniques to assist us in building up our jumping backwards and forwards.

What have you got to lose but not improve your floating backwards and forwards!  Come alone or bring a friend but come join us!

Better Vinyasas – June 3rd

Better Back Bends

Did you back bend as a child and wonder where all your flexibility has gone or does the idea of back bending simply fill you with dread and you wish that you could use your yoga mat as an invisibility cloak when the teachers mentions them or it’s that time in the class?!

Mmm! This workshop is for you!  I am going to take you on a little journey around your body to look at ways to stretch, open and strengthen it and to make back bending possible.  Come and join me to start or refine your back bending journey!

Headstanding is not all that it seems and requires stamina, correct technique and patience to master.  Are you ready to give it a go or move your practice on?!

From Small Seeds children’s yoga mixes traditional yoga postures with storytelling, games and lots of silly noises.

4:40pm -5:30pm Growing Seeds with Cat

Aimed at children aged 9-12 years old.  In this class we start to move towards an understanding of the body and breath and how the two combine to make yoga calming and mindful but still fun!  This is an excellent class for young folk transitioning to their teen years.

5:45pm -6:45pm (5 week course starts 21 June) Yoga for Teens Course

Teenagers, perhaps more than anyone, need to ease the everyday stresses and pressures of their lives so we are offering our teens course as a tool to help our younger yogi’s and yogini’s cope with all that the world throws at them. We’ll be using the classic fundamental of hatha yoga to give our teens coping mechanisms with their lives, bodies and minds with the aim of helping them grow in to happy yogi’s and yogini’s.

Feel calm, strong, connected. A moderately paced vinyasa practice in which we let go of expectations and dive into mindfulness and effort. We are offering mama’s and baba’s the chance to shimmy, shake and shape up with this lively new dance class.  These classes will help you improve your general fitness, flexibility and muscle tone especially within the abdomen. The sessions are light-hearted and will help you lift your spirits and confidence as well as finding new ways to soothe and comfort your baby.  Please note that you must have sign off from your 6 weeks check up to attend this class and all babies must be carried in a sling. Therapeutic yoga sessions provide a nurturing environment where, for some, the smallest movement might represent a major milestone. In this relaxed space, we gently help each individual to explore their own potential, and celebrate each little step.

Most yoga sessions will include poses, breathing practices, chanting, mindfulness techniques and relaxation, but each session will be different. The activities are adapted to meet the child’s personal needs at that particular time on that particular day.

This holistic activity is enjoyed in a peaceful atmosphere that provides the time and space for children and caregivers to connect and be calm.

In this Saturday morning fun-filled session, children enjoy games and stories that teach them a range of yoga poses, breathing techniques and mindfulness exercises.

It all takes place in a nurturing, non-competitive environment with a gentle focus on kindness and gratitude, where the little yogis have a chance to slow their minds and channel their energy in a positive way.

Come join us for a social on Saturday!
